Concert

|
Every year there's a free concert at the park next to the railway station... mostly amateur bands, or local kids trying to prove themselves. This year there was one slightly famous band.
Beer bottles everywhere
I liked best the performance of Pero Defformero. They're a combination of folk music and heavy metal... it's hilarious to hear them sing country songs with a metal backbeat. Here's a video I've made, I suggest watching the part after the 3rd minute.
These were the famous band I talked about... mainly skinhead music. They were famous in the 90'es but I don't think they've made any new songs since.

Marathon

|
This year's marathon was today. People from "around the world" come to run through the 120 km marathon on mountain Fruška Gora. For the rest of ordinary people, they go through a 17, 19, 32 or 50 km stage. We went through the 19 km and it was exhausting, so I don't know how those people that go through the 120 km (I know two such people) do it.
Marathon for the masses. The bus stop is crowded with people that want to go to the starting point
It was really crowded in the bus. And considering the ticket was 2 times its normal price, I think we'd deserved a better treatment. 
Finally out in the open! The windows of the bus started to get fumed by the time they finally let us out.
And now a folklore programme
They were actually quite good. I don't like country music, but these were somewhat "artsy". Nevermind the silly dress.
At 9 AM the "race" has started. Everyone is walking, of course.

In the beginning the roads are crowded
Along the path they've put quotes from famous people that are related to nature. This one is from Heine and it says something like "Every look at nature removes the pain and calms down". Yeah right, my feet were hurting like hell by the end and I was surrounded by nature! 
Forrest
First stop! There are small stops at about every 6-7 km where you need to register yourself that you have passed that point
People need to puncture a hole in their registration card with those red things

We have passed about 15 km at this point and the roads are almost empty. I'm guessing other people gave up or chose an easier path.

At the last stop we got free water to drink and they offered us cooked beans (we said no). Also some people used this occasion to perform various stunts. This guy was breakdancing

On the other side some girls are making giant soap bubbles.

Finally we are nearing the finish line. These kids are playing with the water...
...that is coming out of this cisterne, probably meant for contestants to drink
And that's it. It was fun time but quite tireing.
This is the bus stop, going back home. We managed to get us some seats this time

Socks

Like I said in my comment in the previous entry, I believe people expect too much of this photo blog. So now I will post a few horrible updates to balance out those expectations.
These are my socks. Notice there are 3 of them, because I didn't take out the ones I wore yesterday.
And here's the 4th sock, next to the beer can. The beer is not mine (Jelen pivo sucks, I don't drink it), but my sister hid it in my room so mom wouldn't think it's hers.
Well, one day she's going to see this photo blog and she'll find out the truth...
